Gearing Up for Festival Season

OK, so we've served as vendors for a couple small, local organizations, we've gotten our feet wet, so to speak and now we think we just might be ready to dive in... Festivals! selling soap at festivals within driving distance... that covers all of South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and maybe a little into Tennessee and Virginia.

We've sent in our membership to Festivals Online and have received our first emailed listing of all the festivals in the country with a September 1 entry deadline... there are THOUSANDS!

We have narrowed the list down to include only the five states we feel are within our driving area... there are HUNDREDS! They list how many attendees they had the year before, how much for vendor fees, what you need to bring, how many total vendors they plan to have, and much more... BUT...

How to decide where to go, what to attend, where does soap sell well? Real, all-natural, handmade soap... no fru-fru stuff... no bright colored, sweetly artificial smelling... but natural soap, scented only with essential oils and colored with things like cinnamon and coffee and cucumbers... where will our soap sell well?
Shall we go to the Bedford, VA Centerfest? My sister lives near there, we could stay with her. There were something like 25,000 attendees last year... or...
Or how 'bout the Malcolm Blue Farm in Aberdeen, NC? It's smaller than the Bedford Festival but is an old Scottish homestead and will have old-time arts and crafts and demonstrations. Sounds fun... or

Maybe the Carolina Balloon Fest in Statesville, NC? or...

Moonshiners Reunion in Campobello, SC? or...

or the Honeybee Festival in Kernersville, NC?

That's just a tiny sampling of the Festivals out there for us to choose from... the decision is a little daunting but exciting just the same... Autumn Festival Season... Here We Come!
